About the event
The UP Film Institute in collaboration with Lupon ng Pilipinong Sinematograpo (LPS), Aputure, and Birns & Sawyer, in association with PELIKULA: A Journal of Philippine Cinema and Moving Image, will hold a roundtable discussion featuring a rare gathering of the country's premier women cinematographers.
Join us in this safe space as we discuss the personal histories of how these women became cinematographers in the larger context of male-dominated Philippine cinema and learn about the realities of media culture in the country. We will also talk about their art and collaboration with filmmakers to visualize popular, prizewinning, and cutting-edge works.

Lee Briones–Meily, LPS
Lee Briones–Meily is a pioneering woman director of photography for films, documentaries, and TV commercials & content. She is most notably known for Ignacio de Loyola, Amigo, Baler, Crying Ladies, Tanging Yaman, Mana, Bakit Di Mo Sabihin? and Mamang.
Shayne Sarte, LPS
Shayne Sarte is a stalwart among women DPs, who started her career in cinematography in 1998. Her credits include TV commercials and full-length features like Minsan Minahal Kita, Kailangan Kita, Milan, Everything About Her, and When I Met You In Tokyo at the recent Metro Manila Film Festival.
In 2009, she co-founded Spring Films, where she tried her hand at producing, i.e., the Kimmy Dora series.
Anne Monzon, LPS
Anne Monzon is an experienced cinematographer for advertising and feature films. Her recent film credits include Fantastica, A Love Affair, Miracle in Cell No. 7, and Family of Two.
Anne is currently the president of LPS.
Tey Clamor, LPS
Tey Clamor, known for her work as a cinematographer, underwater DP, and documentarist, lensed films like Babae at Baril, Metamorphosis, Isa Pa With Feelings, and Roadkillers. She has also worked on documentaries with international directors like Lauren Greenfield for The Kingmaker and Sze-wei Chan for Tens Across The Borders.
She currently serves as the External Affairs VP of LPS.
Sasha Palomares, LPS
Sasha Palomares is a graduate of the UP Film Institute and has worked on advertisements, independent films, and TV shows since 2012. Her film work includes Mariquina, Shift, Bar Boys, Baka Bukas, Never Tear Us Apart, and That Thing Called Tadhana, among others.
Eva Marie Paz, LPS
Eva Marie Paz’s works span TV commercials, music videos, and documentaries. Her feature film credits include 'Tol and Abundance: The Story of Us.
Cesca Lee, LPS
Cesca Lee is a cinematographer for film, advertising, and, just recently, for series. Her works include A Girl and A Guy, Love is Color Blind, MA, Utopia, Ang Pambansang Third Wheel, Tale of the Lost Boys, Love VS Stars, Linlang, Senior High, and Sleep With Me.
Cesca is currently the Finance Director of LPS.
Kara Moreno, LPS
Kara Moreno is a narrative and documentary director of photography. Her filmography includes Edward, Kitty K7, Becky and Badette, and Third World Romance.
